Who We Are

 Mission
United Green CORE is a youth-led environmental organization that empowers young people through hands-on education, community partnerships, and practical action.

How we do it
Through the Native Plant Olympics and other community-based projects, students learn by doing and create real change where they live.

The three seeds in our trademarked logo represent three pillars of society: community, business, and government. We believe lasting environmental change requires collaboration across all three.

Our work

Our work

Founded in 2023 and officially incorporated on June 19, 2024, we turn complex environmental challenges into hands-on projects that communities can actually run with.

Our work

We design programs that teach by doing  planting, observing, tracking growth, and connecting local ecosystems to broader climate challenges. Our flagship initiative, the Native Plant Olympics, brings friendly classroom competition to pollinator and native-plant science.

Partnerships

Youth Project Incubator

Youth Project Incubator

We've grown through partnerships with local government, businesses, and community members. The City of White Plains selected United Green CORE to receive two grants through the Bloomberg Philanthropies Youth Climate Action Fund, supporting youth-led environmental projects across the city.

We also mentor students who want to lead their own environmental projects, providing guidance, resources, and support from concept to launch. Recent projects include:

  • Solar-powered charging benches — Max Mui designed and installed public benches that offer free device charging in White Plains.
  • Native Plant Tool Kit — Student J.K. from Leffell School developed a custom kit to help start their own native plant gardens.

We welcome inquiries from young people with project ideas of their own.
